The Right Zambrano, Dumb or Not Omar, Bay Day... bad Delgado... and BP looking for writers

Carlos Zambrano:

According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Cubs are willing to trade RHP Carlos Zambrano.Zambrano, 28, was 9-7 last year with the Cubs, while posting a 3.77 ERA in 28 starts.

Mike Puma of the NY Post believes that Yankees GM Brian Cashman inquired about Zambrano, but Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago, says that those talks are premature and Zambrano's agent, Barry Praver, said he has not been contacted about a trade. - link

Omar Minaya:

But really, what has Omar Minaya ever done to deserve the reputation as a dumb general manager?

Did he give a 5 year/$50 million contract to Gary Matthews Jr.?

Did he give a 6 year/$100 million contract to Carlos Lee?

Did he give a 6 year/$66 million contract to Eric Chavez?

Did he give a 7 year/$126 million contract to Vernon Wells?

Did he give a 4 year/$60 million contract to Derek Lowe?

Did he give a 4 year/$42 million contract to Jeff Suppan?

Did he give a 4 year/$41 million contract to Kyle Lohse?

Did he give an 8 year/$136 million contract to Alfonso Soriano?

Did he give a 3 year/$30 million contract to Eric Byrnes?

Did he give a 2 year/$45 million contract to Manny Ramirez?

Jason Bay:

Think about that as Jason Bay is hoping that the Elmjack little leaguers can raise about $61 million in sales of Nestle Crunch bars so that he can have another option ... any option ... other than the Mets.  - metstradamus

Carlos Delgado:

Decade's Worst Fielders:

Sorry, but we just can't resist offering the worst fielders, according to UZR per 150 games (except for catchers):

1B -- Carlos Delgado (minus-4/150G) - Delgado hasn't been the new Doctor Strangeglove, or even the new Marv Throneberry. These days, the truly awful first basemen usually get moved to an easier position.
