The Big Ten Conference, Huntington Park and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission announced that Columbus, Ohio, will be home to the Big Ten Baseball Tournament for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons… Notre Dame football & baseball star Golden Tate announces that he will enter the April 2010 NFL draft. Tate had two seasons of baseball and one season of football eligibility remaining… The Southeastern Conference is taking its swing at picking up the pace during baseball games… The league’s athletic directors approved changes for the 2010 SEC tournament including a 20-second clock between pitches when the bases are empty and a 90-second limit between half innings, spokesman Chuck Dunlap said… The NCAA is accusing Arizona State of a “lack of institutional control” of the baseball program, citing allegations that include impermissible recruiting phone calls and a failure to monitor baseball staff members… Four Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes (RHP Deck McGuire, RHP Sean Gilmartin, OF Tyler Holt, OF Jarrett Parker) have been named to the 10th annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Pro-Line Athletic Preseason first team All-America team…
