Opening Night at Historic Grayson Stadium Set for April 3
Savannah, GA – The Savannah Sand Gnats, Class A Affiliate of the New York Mets, have released their schedule for the 2014 season. Opening Night will take place on Thursday, April 3 against the Lakewood BlueClaws at Historic Grayson Stadium.
Opening Night will feature pre- and post-game fireworks, special entertainment for fans of all ages, and, of course, a Thirsty Thursday™.
The Sand Gnats start out with a seven game homestand but will spend most of the latter half of April on the road. In May, interdivision rivals come to town including the Rome Braves, the Greenville Drive and the Charleston RiverDogs.
As in years past, the three-day All-Star Break will happen in June from the 16th to the 18th. This year’s All-Star game will be played in Hickory, North Carolina, the home of the Hickory Crawdads.
The Sand Gnats Independence Week Fireworks will again fall on July 3rd, a Thursday, versus the RiverDogs.
