The Mets have announced that RHP Gonzalez Germen has been designated for assignment in order to make room on the 40 man roster for John Mayberry Jr.
Germen still has option years remaining and can be optioned to AAA if he passes through waivers without being claimed.

Gone-zalez Germen. He hit this org at the wrong time, and there is no room at the inn for a pitcher of his iffy caliber.

My guess is he will pass through; however, Germen has had multiple opportunities to earn a spot on the parent team and, if his destiny is somewhere else, so be it.
I wish him as well as I did guys like Collin McHugh and Chris Schwinden.
He will pass through - I think his future will continue to be a AAAA / back-up ML pen piece.
No one will grab him off waivers for that - plus most rosters are pretty full
I still think he has a possible ML career; he did flash on occasion and has a decent FB/Change mix, but too many FB were not located. Just glad Cesar did get a DFA after he lit up the Dominican over the weekend.
