Binghamton rolled to an easy win. The opposing starter came in with a record 2-12, and left with a record of 2 - 13. no Conforto, no Nimmo, no matter. An 11 hit attack, evenly spread amongst the lineup.
Gabe Ynoa has been magnificent of late. In his last six starts, Gabe has allowed just eight earned runs and only two walks, while lowering his ERA from 5.72. to 3.87. Congratulations, MR. YNOA. Perhaps he should be nicknamed the Surgeon General for his pinpoint control.
St Lucie dominated until the pen allowed 3 in the 9th, but the Lucies prevailed by 2 runs. Phil Evans has had 2 hits in 4 straight games, as he starts to erase a very tough start to his season. Casey Meisner and the Sunshine Band rocked the house again tonight, as Casey tossed 6 shutout innings. In Savannah and St Lucie this season, he is 10-2 with an ERA hovering around 2.00. For a 20 year old, that is amazing. ANOTHER STUD???
Brooklyn continues to not hit, dropping to .225 in a loss to Aberdeen. In a pitcher's duel today, Almonte, who tossed seven innings, surrendered two runs in the 4th inning for the only runs of the day, as Brooklyn got whitewashed.
Brandon Kaupe had two of the Cyclones four hits, and the bullpen for the Cyclones was excellent once again, with no runs in the final two innings.
GCL Mets: our boys got outhit 8 to 4, and lost on an unearned run. Rehabbing Jhoan Urena went deep for the Mets' only run, and the Mets made four errors on the day.

Good to see Phil Evans get hot before Jhoan Urena returns shortly to St Lucie following his rehab. Phil could play less then, but recent hot streak should avoid him getting buried.
July continues to be on base month for Gavin Cecchini. He has a .476 on base % in 13 July games. He's doing that in AA and is still 21, folks.
But error-wise, 21 in 77 games, but only 5 in 35 games in 2012. Usually guys improve defensively....puzzling.
So I assume that Meisner, Ynoa, Fulmer will either be future trade bait or future replacements for the fab 5 as they start to hit free agency................
Hey, will we ever hear about marcos molina again?
@Tom
I would like to debunk the rumor "defensive problems" Gavin is supposedly having.
He does have a small case of the yips right now....but....Many of his errors are resulting from throws low in the dirt that a reasonably good defensive 1B would make scoops on.
Aderlin Rodriguez is doing Cecchini no favors with his atrocious foot and glovework at the 1B bag.
Cecchini's defensive movements are still very smooth, his hands are soft, his arm is of solid average strength, and I am fully confident that he can still be a plus MLB defender at SS.
