DOWN UNDER: Mets Minor league Results - 7-14-15

ALL STAR WEEK MAKES FOR A SLOW DAY IN MINORS
 - 3 games, just one win.
STARS OF THE DAY: Three rehabbers in the GCL contest.

HONORABLE MENTION: Will Barring

 SCORES:

Las Vegas  - DNP

Binghamton  - DNP

St Lucie  - DNP

Savannah  2 - Asheville 8

Brooklyn  - DNP

Kingsport  - DNP

GCL Mets 7 -  Cardinals 6

DSL METS 1.  3 - Yanks 15

DSL METS 2.   DNP

Savannah's Casey Delgado surrendered 5 runs in 6 innings of work and Edioglis Vilasmil the final 3 in his 3 innings of work.  Another quiet hitting night from a team that is missing the disabled Wuilmer Becerra.

GCL Mets held REHAB DAY in Florida today. Come and get your full body cast signed by one of the Mets' walking wounded. (Really?  No, not really.)

Three rehabbers.  Rafael Montero and Luis Mateo both pitched scoreless innings, each allowing a hit and striking out a batter, and Jhoan Urena had 2 hits, including a 9th inning game tying homer.

Will Barring (pronounced "wheel bearing," presumably) drove in the game winning run with a walk off single. Ivan Wilson had a triple and single.

DSL METS 1:  A close 3-2 game after 6 innings turned into a 15-3 loss, as Yank batters exploded (and strolled) for 12 runs in the final 3 innings.

The Met starter walked no one in his 4 innings.  But:

4 of the 5 relievers walked 16 in 4.1 innings - amazing.

Heck, Gabe Ynoa walked 16 too, BUT IT TOOK THE ENTIRE 2012 SEASON FOR HIM TO DO IT!!

BACK TO THE FOUR WALKERS: Advincola surrendered 3 runs, Fernandez 6, and Chourios 3 in 0.2 innings, in which he walked SEVEN batters. Rafael Valdez came in to record the final 2 outs without allowing a walk.  The other 4 told him to take a walk.

 DSL METS 2: DNP

GOAT: DSL 1 BULLPEN FOR ITS 16 WALKS IN 5 INNINGS.
