Binghamton Mets starter Gabriel Ynoa was recognized as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for his one-hit shutout of the Erie SeaWolves on July 2. It marks the first time this season a B-Met has earned an Eastern League weekly honor.
Ynoa, 22, baffled the SeaWolves over nine scoreless innings, registering the fourth solo nine-inning one-hitter in B-Mets franchise history. Signed out of La Vega in the Dominican Republic in November 2009, Ynoa struck out six and issued no walks in his fifth win of the season. Harold Castro scratched out the only hit off Ynoa with a double in the third.
