ESPN.com: Ramirez, Pirates rough up Mets after rain forseries sweep. “Ramirez had four hits and three RBI, Pedro Alvarez homered and Pittsburgh roughed up the sloppy Mets after a rain delay Sunday for an 8-1 victory that sealed the Pirates' first season series sweep of New York…Alvarez, Ramirez and Gregory Polanco each had run-scoring hits in a breakaway four-run seventh, keyed by reliever Bobby Parnell's throwing error.”

NY Post: Mets get creative in wasting Matt Harvey’s latestgem. “Harvey wasn’t beaten by the Pirates, he was undone by the rain, the Amazin’s failing lineup and floundering bullpen. Despite not having his best stuff and seeing his career-long 16-inning scoreless streak snapped on Pedro Alvarez’s second-inning solo shot, Harvey was outstanding. He scattered seven hits and struck out seven.”

Mets didn't lose any ground to the Nationals who lost their 6th straight as the Giants completed a 4 game sweep winning 5-0.
