ESPN.com: Granderson, Johnson power Mets past Rockies 12-3for sweep. “Curtis Granderson and Kelly Johnson each homered and drove in three runs, powering New York to a 12-3 rout of the Colorado Rockies that completed a four-game sweep Thursday…Syndergaard (7-6) went seven innings and improved to 7-1 at Citi Field, but the 22-year-old rookie labored early. After entering with a 1.57 ERA in his own ballpark, he got tagged for first-inning homers by DJ LeMahieu and Nolan Arenado…After that, Syndergaard switched to off-speed stuff early in the count and shut down Colorado. He did not permit a hit after the second inning and retired 14 of his final 15 batters -- with the only runner erased on a double play.”

NY Post: Thumping Mets lineup takes no mercy in 4-game sweep. “The Mets didn’t trail for long, scoring three times in the bottom of the inning thanks to three straight doubles by Daniel Murphy, Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson…A two-run homer by Granderson in the fourth made it 6-3, and Johnson added his 11th home run an inning later, finally forcing Colorado right-hander Eddie Butler from the game. They scored twice more in the sixth before Juan Lagares’ pinch-hit three-run homer in the eighth made it 12-3.

Mets stretched their 1st place lead to 4.5 games as Washington fell to San Fran 3-1.
