TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Bisons face the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the second game of a two-game series at Coca-Cola Park (7:05 p.m.). The Herd began its five-game in four-day roadtrip with a 1-2 record in Syracuse. Tomorrow, the Bisons open up an eight-game homestand with two against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, two against Pawtucket and four with the IronPigs.

vs. IRONPIGS: In eight meetings this season, the Bisons and IronPigs have won four games each. In their first series of the 2012 season, the two clubs split the four-game set in Buffalo, April 16-20. A few days later, the Herd took two of three at Coca-Cola Park, April 23-25. The IronPigs have won a pair of extra-inning contests in the series, including a 4-3 victory in 11 on April 24.

SCHWINDEN: RHPCHRIS SCHWINDEN takes the mound for the 14th time tonight for the Herd. The righty has captured victories in his last two starts, including six shutout innings against the Chiefs on August 4. In his five starts since the All-Star break, Schwinden is 2-0 with a 1.69ERA in 26.2 innings.

SOSO GOOD: Entering yesterday’s game as a pinch hitter in the top of the seventh against Lehigh Valley, OFMATT TUIASOSOPO went 3-3 with an RBI. On his first at bat, Tuiasosopo drove in one of the Bisons’ four runs with an RBI-single. On the current roadtrip, he is batting .462 (6-13) with an RBI.

STREAK: INFJOSH SATIN had two hits last night, including a two-run double. Satin has a seven-game hitting streak, during which he has averaged .444 (12-27) with four doubles, two home runs, eight RBI and a walk. Satin is tied with Yankees’ DH Jack Cust with a league-best .400 on-base percentage.

BACKtoBACK: OFFRED LEWIS has homered in consecutive games for the third time this season. The outfielder also went deep May 25-26 against the Yankees and hit three homers, July 12-13 in Pawtucket. Lewis has 10 home runs on the season, third most on the Bisons.

BISONS BITS: RHPFERNANDO CABRERA is one save away from being just the sixth Bisons reliever in the modern era to record a 20-save season... Returning to the bullpen after his second stint with the Mets, RHPELVIN RAMIREZ struck out the only batter he faced last night.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (54-58) defeated the Marlins, 6-1, this afternoon from Citi Field. Former Bisons RHPR.A. DICKEY went the distance and allowed just five hits to improve to 15-3 on the season. CFANDRES TORRES hit his second home run of the season and drove in three. New York hosts the Braves tomorrow night.
