Wade Michael Page –
why do they always have three names?
MLB –
MLB - Mets:
Sandy
Alderson - “I think it was a learning experience for him. Just from my
observation, without talking with anybody, I thought [Harvey] got away from his
strength a little bit. With his power stuff, he has got to work everything else
in, but ultimately it has to be about the power stuff.’’
Chuck
Booth (Lead Baseball Writer and @chuckbooth3024 on twitter)- It has been a
crazy month in which teams have stockpiled some heavy talent at the trade
deadline to get ready for the playoffs.
Amongst the biggest gainers for the rankings this month were: the
Athletics, Reds, Braves, Tigers, Dodgers (because of the deals) and Mariners
while the Mets, Red Sox, Indians and Royals saw brutal months all but seal
their playoff fates. I do think that
Boston has a punchers chance but that all is dependent on David Ortiz returning
to the lineup swiftly. The power of the
best teams is definitely leaning to the National League right now where several
teams are playing great baseball.
AAA – Buffalo:
C.J.
Nitkowski promoted from Binghamton to Buffalo
RHP Zack Wheeler will make his
Bisons and Triple-A debut tonight. The 22-year old is the Mets’ #1 prospect
byBaseball America. In 19 starts with Binghamton (AA), Wheeler was 10-6 with a
3.26ERA. At the time of his promotion, he led the Eastern League with 117
strikeouts. He was an Eastern League All-Star and pitched in the 2012 All-Star
Futures Game.
RHP Jenrry Mejia will start
game two. Mejia returned to the Bisons rotation last Tuesday and allowed one
run in three innings in Indianapolis. Mejia made 16 consecutive relief
appearances since beginning the season with three starts, May 30-June 9.
Eno Sarris - There really isn’t a good reason to like any of these guys.
Well, Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Brett Jackson are
toolsy young outfielders, so you could like that about them, but both of them
have contact issues, and one is still in the minor leagues
SNY to air Zack Wheeler's Triple-A
debut
Game 1 – Loss, 4-5
Zack Wheeler - 4.2 IP, 3 H, 4 BB, 7 K, HBP. 2-R, 101-P… back-to-back
home runs by Josh Rodriguez and Lucas Duda…the Mets had this game in their pocket and
then fell apart under new arrival Scott Patterson (1.0-IP,
2-R, 18.00).
Game 2 –
SP Jenrry Mejia decided he
didn’t want anyone to forget he’s still around: 4.1-IP, 3-H, 0-R2-K, 1-BB,
3.22. Fastball: 92-94. He got a little help from a grand slam by Matt den Dekker.
AA-Binghamton:
off…
A+ - St. Lucie:
Off…
A – Savannah:
Monday – Loss, 2-3
Lost on a walk-off set up by a Chason
Bradford wild pitch and a Matt Reynolds error.
Seven Sand Gnats hits, including three by C Cam Maron. Maron is now batting .304 and deserves a
promotion to St. Lucie before the season ends. He’s done well with a bat in his
hand, even though his 5/60 may rank lowest in the league.
Prospect CF Gilbert Gomez limps
along – 1-4, .257.
A-Low – Brooklyn:
Monday – Win, 3-1
This was all SP Rainy Lara:
6.0-IP, 1-ER, 5-H, 3-K, 2.56… Logan Taylor (0.00)
the another scoreless inning… off day for Nimmo… CF Eudy
Pina led off: 2-4, .261… C Kevin Plawecki (3rd)
and LF Stefan Sabol (4th) each
homered…
Rookie –
Kingsport:
Monday – loss, whatever
P Carlos Valdez was promoted from the DSL Mets. He
pitched one scoreless inning and ended the night 0.00. Give him time with this
team…

Savannah's gonna be the most interesting Mets minor league affiliate next season: Matz (?), all the Brooklyn pitchers, Nimmo, Evans and/or Cecchini, Plawecki or Nido. Pretty cool.
YO Mack. Go read an article at Metsmerizedonline.com. It's about Phillip Evans. The writer JUST CALLED YOU OUT! He called the scout you interviewed bogus and your work even more bogus. Don't read the comments. Worse things are said there.
PEACE
No, I don't read them anymore.
They hate me over there even though it was I that spent an hour with Petey Pete teaching him how to get Mets players to interview with him.
The owner there, Joe, is very sick (like I am) and my docotrs tell me I can't let people like this bother me anymore.
I don't read any of the Mets blogs and the only beat reporter I follow is Adam Rubin because he provides the most content.
My doctors tell me that all the negative comments are "triggers" for me that can shorten my time on earth. I'd rather just blog, play with my grandchildren, and water my plants.

Will:
Normally, some of the Brooklyn players get pushed to Lucy, but there's no room, pitching wise.
I really think Nimmo will bypass Savannah. Weather wise, it's a hell hole and the Mets love to keep their prospects "in town" with them.
I expect the conversion of Evans to 2B to begin in Savannah
