Associated Press | nytimes.com The Texas Rangers ace Yu Darvish may require season-ending Tommy John surgery, because an M.R.I. exam revealed partially torn ligaments in Darvish’s troublesome right elbow. General Manager Jon Daniels said Saturday that Darvish could try to pitch through the injury, rest for up to four months or undergo surgery. Daniels said the club would get a second opinion this weekend, but he indicated that surgery may be the preferred option.
(Herb G. You never wish bad fortune on another team. However, one has to think, does this add to the Rangers motivation to trade for a starter? If Darvish undergoes surgery, or even if they opt to rest him for four months, I would think so. Unfortunately, since Darvish is a top of the rotation pitcher, Daniels probably would not opt to call Alderson about Gee. Rather, I would think he would first call Ruben Amaro about Cole Hamels. If the Phillies’ price for Hamels is too dear, then Alderson’s phone might ring.)

Ask Gee and Colon to step into a garage, call the Rangers and tell them we're having a spring clean up garage sale, no reasonable offer refused.
I keeping thinking about all the pitching injuries and wondering whether we just know more about the injuries and the specifics, or whether there are actuallly more of them.
Every time a great athlete gets hurt, I thing back to Wayne Simpson and Roosevelt Leaks.
Simpson was a young and over powering rh pitcher for Cincinnatti-- a great first year and a "pop" in an August Game....Never the same after an Allstar Debut. http://sabr.org/bioproj/person/cbeac4f6
Leaks was a Great Texas Running Back--- prior to Earl Campbell.... cut down after 2 years by a knee injury---probably a repairable injury today. In 1973, he was 3rd in the Heisman Voting, but never the same player.
He went on to be an NFL Blocking Back--- not the career he would have had.
These injuries are really sad....and the shoulder injury is just so evasive to identify and fix. Unlike the UCL (I"Tommy John"), it is not a "Part Replacement".
