Flies lost tonight. Command was an issue for Taylor. Was one pitch away from getting out of a jam and gave up a hit that scores two. Next inning he walked in two more. Jacob Zanon was activated from DL. Had a great game including a HR to LF. Lindsay is out. Had a splint on his finger. Carpio and Gimenez continue to play well. I really like Gimenez. Dash had an opportunity to knock in some runs but struck out. Tebow had two hits and FC that should have been a hit. Runner was thrown out going to 3B on hit to LF. Felt like Kannapolis was going to run on Tebow in LF. They sent runners twice and he didn't put much on the throws.

Anonymous, nice Fireflies update. How hard does Blake Taylor throw?

Flexen on DL AGAIN? Man, he was rolling. Stinks

(sure would like to get this anonymous guy to write a morning firefly update for the site each morning)

Anonymous, I agree. Call it what you will - FLIES ON THE WALL would be a catchy name for Fireflies game recaps and observations.

Jacob Zanon - very small sample size in 2017 - so far, so exciting.

Zanon was playing well before injury. He is a grinder. Had another good game last night. Kannapolis looks pretty good. Flies promoted 3 and I believe Kannapolis promoted 8. Harol Gonzalez struggled on the mound. Someone asked about Taylor's arm. He was touching 93 MPH. Tebow looked rough last night. Hit a laser to CF in 9th. Thought he burned CF playing shallow. Guy turned, ran and made a great play. Tebow also bobbled a ball in LF and runners advanced. Still has a long way to go in LF. Carpio had three hits last night. Hoping he has a good second half.
