Christopher
Tomshack, RHP, Elyria Catholic HS,
Class of 2013 - 6-foot, 178-pound right-handed pitcher. Throws from ¾ to high ¾
arm slot with quick arm action. Delivery requires some effort. Fastball sits
81-85 mph with arm side run. Doesn’t use a curveball, but relies on a 81 mph
cutter. Shows a changeup at 73 mph with arm side fade. Also uses a 70-72 mph
knuckleball with some tumble. PBR
Wes Noble, one of the top pitchers on the Team Ohio
roster, will also play the outfield. The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect from
Lebanon High School (north of Cincinnati) showed well at the Top Prospect Games
in June with a 6.9 60-yard dash and a top velocity of 86 mph from the outfield.
This past summer, Noble played for Custom X. PBR
Luke Farrell, RHP, Falmouth Commodores (Northwestern) - Big
kid (6’6″) with a high 3/4 delivery… creates a good downward plane. Pauses over
the mound. Heavy FB 88-90 looked tough to elevate. Also threw an early breaking
CB (73-74) and a CU (78) that he didn’t show a lot of feel for. He three three
CUs. Two were waist high and hard with no life. The other was too hard into the
dirt. http://bullpenbanter.com/cape-cod-league-observations-week-6/
Connor Glassey - Alabama
HS OF Anfernee Grier has very quick hands. Looks
like he just flicked his wrists & hit a 390’ HR in BP… heard Clinton Hollon was pulled from his outing at ECP today
because of elbow tendinitis, but that it was mostly precautionary.
(let’s hope
this is true… right now, Holton lines up as the top pitcher to be drafted ext
June and could go #1 overall. Every pitcher gets a little tender once in
awhile, but pulling someone in the first inning means they never should have
been in the game in the first place. This is bad communication between a player
who wants to be showcased and the people around him. Shut him down for the
summer.)
