No no no no no. He is a bad player (NEGATIVE fWAR on the year) and the Mets have no need for more middle infielders anyway. If they did, they could call up one of hte Joshes (Rodriguez or Satin).

There is no such thing as a "bad player" at the major league level.
There may be players that either no longer produce at levels that are acceptable to fans like you, but the worst player with the worst stats would stand up to any anonymous writer, either with a pen or a bat in their hands.
I find it harder each year to accept how crude and rude fans are when it comes to decent human beings that these fans have never even met.
I don't happen to think that Betancourt could help the Mets, either long or short term, but I add these posts to make the site a little more interesting. They generate intellgent back and forth banter from the regulars around here (we call ourselves 'grownups') and the writers.
I will continue to feature players DFA'd or released at key positions (2B, C, OF, RP) that might be worthy of an intelligent response or the beginning of an adult conversation.
