Michael Kornacker, RHP/2B, St. Laurence HS - Kornacker is an athletically built 6-foot-4, 180-pound athlete who has the potential to be a legitimate two-way player at the next level. Just as he does at St. Laurence HS, Kornacker will showcase his middle infield and pitching abilities for Team Illinois at the Midwest Future Games this weekend at the University of Illinois. Kornacker, who is currently ranked No. 5 in Illinois' Class of 2014, has been a big-time run producer for St. Laurence since his freshman year. Playing against the best competition in the state, Kornacker batted .383 as a freshman and earned second-team Chicago Catholic Blue Conference honors while playing a solid second base.  -  more… http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/news/IL/Midwest-Future-Games-Spotlight-Michael-Kornacker-3064759821#.UBhgjwMRIWc.twitter

A five-run second inning gave the Licking County Settlers a 5-2 lead over the Lake Erie Monarchs and they never looked back, winning 10-4 to move on to the next round of the playoffs, a best of three series against the Lima Locos. Lake Erie had the first lead of the game when David Vandercook crossed home on an Eric Jacobson sacrifice fly to center. Tim Quiery followed that up with an RBI double to bring around Austin Williams for a brief 2-0 lead. http://www.collegesummerbaseball.net/2012/08/settlers-top-monarchs-10-4-move-on-to.html
