#30 Nolan Schubart
OF Oklahoma State
20/years old
6' 5" 223
Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 60 | Run: 30 | Arm: 40 |
Field: 30 | Overall: 50
Schubart played for a St. Mary's Prep (Orchard Lake, Mich.)
juggernaut that captured three straight titles in his three full seasons and
included two players who signed for seven-figure bonuses (Brock Porter out of
high school, Alex Mooney following two years at Duke) and two who could be
first-round picks in 2025 (Schubart and Auburn catcher Ike Irish). He fell two
hits shy of winning the Big 12 Conference triple crown last spring, batting
.370 with 23 homers and 68 RBI in 49 games. He continued to rake during the
summer, slashing .341/.565/.773 between brief stints with the U.S. collegiate
national team and in the Cape Cod League.
While Schubart is pretty much a one-tool guy, prodigious
left-handed power is always in demand, and he owns plus-plus raw pop thanks to
his combination of bat speed, massive strength and a stroke designed to launch
balls in the air. He can drive the ball out of any part of any ballpark and
will take walks when pitchers refuse to challenge him. He comes with concerns
about how he'll handle pro pitching, however, because he struck out at a 27
percent clip last season and had a 30 percent whiff rate on swings within the
strike zone.
Schubart has to hit because he offers little value outside of
the batter's box. He's a well-below-average runner with range to match in left
field and a below-average arm. He'll almost certainly shift to first base at
the next level and could wind up at DH.

No. 23 Kansas City Royals: Nolan Schubart, OF, Oklahoma State
Schubart has a 28% strikeout rate at OSU, but he also has
dazzling power with 40 home runs the past two seasons with massive exit
velocity. He's the preseason Big 12 Player of the Year for a reason.
The Cowboys play Clemson in a mega showdown at the Shriners
Children's Baseball Showdown on Opening Day and face Louisville and Texas later
that weekend.

32. Nolan Schubart – 1B
HT/WT: 6’5/223 | Bat/Throw: L/R | School: Oklahoma State |
Age: 21.2
An uber-physical specimen, Schubart has some of the best
power in the entire class and put together an outstanding campaign with Team
USA this summer.
He is incredibly strong and is an imposing figure in the
left-handed box, stepping in at 6’5, 223 pounds and there’s still projection
remaining to his extra-large frame.
His swing features a ton of bat speed and leverage, allowing
him to tap into his double-plus power from the left side, which is something
scouts covet greatly. He’s already registered exit velocities over the 115 MPH
echelon and his average of 97 MPH in 2024 was amongst the highest in the
country. It’s absurdly good.
With that said, Schubart’s pure contact rates leave a bit
more to be desired. He has yet to crack the 70% barrier over the course of a
full year and will have issues with velocity upstairs, though he’s very patient
and doesn’t chase after pitches out of the zone.
Schubart’s had some run in the outfield and has the arm
strength to handle a corner spot, though his route-running is subpar and a move
to first base is in the cards down the road.

College Baseball Player Of The Year Award Predictions For
2025
Big-12
Player of the Year: Nolan Schubart (Oklahoma State)
Two of Oklahoma State’s top three offensive producers from
2024 moved onto the professional ranks this offseason but the Cowboys are still
quite confident that their offense will click, thanks largely to the return of
Schubart, the outfielder and first baseman who left little to the imagination
last year in terms of his capabilities.
With a scorching 111.6 mph 90th percentile average exit
velocity, Schubart led the Big 12 in home runs (23), on-base percentage (.513),
OPS (1.351) and RBI (68), becoming the 13th Oklahoma State player ever to earn
all-America honors in multiple seasons. Schubart is one of the Big 12’s most
powerful and productive returnees in 2025.

30. Nolan Schubart, OF, Oklahoma St
Another power-first profile that teams are in search of,
hitting 23 home runs last year. Like Petry, he is a power-over-bat profile as a
corner OF, but it is elite power if he can continue to show a solid contact
rate, one tool that teams seek out in the first round.

NOLAN SCHUBART OF OKLAHOMA STATE
The White Sox have selected a college hitter with 9 of their
last 12 first-round picks.
Albeit, I wouldn’t say that Nolan Schubart is “tooled out”
his bat-to-ball skills and metrics stand out from the rest. Schubart’s bat
absolutely carries the profile. It is plus plus power and plus plus hit for the
Oklahoma State product. At a real physical 6-5, 230 pounds, Schubart has some
defensive questions and an average arm. Schubart’s high-end exit velocities and
silky smooth left-handed swing. During his Sophomore season, Schubart batted
.370 with a 1.351 OPS, 23 home runs, and a 194 wRC+.

This guy is ranked too low with that record.
Agree
He has moved up and is now projected to be gone before the 1.38 pick
