Tom's Tidbits
I harp on about the park dimensions and poor weather a lot.
But the third and most important factor is the quality of the hitters.
Glaring example:
Brooklyn last year: .222/.319/.339. 4 runs per game.
Brooklyn this year: .254/.354/.419. 6 runs per game.
The year-over-year disparity is even greater than that.
In the colder first two months of 2024, Brooklyn hit just .210.
This year, .254.
So this year's improvement is huge. Why?
Same park...same weather...same wind.
Why?
Because the hitters are MUCH BETTER in 2025.

The current Brooklyn bat lineup is the best I have seen at any level that I have witnessed in the 20 years I have done this.
Enjoy it.
Far less talent follows with basically zippy at the FCL and DSL level
True, Mack.
As my article tomorrow touches on, hitters have it harder to make the bigs, so I am VERY happy with our Brooklynites. They may be enough for 3-5 years, along with Jett and Gilbert and possibly a few others who have showed more potential than hitting potency in Binghamton..
Injury status of two former Mets in Tampa:
OF Jake Mangum
Injury: Left groin strain
IL date: April 24 (10-day IL)
Expected return: Late May/early June
Status: Injured while trying to leg out a groundout on April 23. Imaging on April 24 confirmed a strain. Will be evaluated the week of May 19 for a potential rehab assignment. (updated May 6)
LHP Nate Lavender
Injury: Left elbow surgery (internal brace)
IL date: Feb. 12 (60-day IL)
Expected return: June or July
Status: After Rule 5 Draft selection, Lavender said he was feeling “unreal” in throwing sessions. Planning a "short" bullpen session May 10 and his first true side session on May 13.
(frankly... don't care)
Careful Mack, you know how a lot of us feel about your prospect posts, pot calling
First, identify yourself.
Second, Tom and I joke all the time about his writing about ex-Mets, fences Danny Muno, etc..it's just what we do. Seasoned readers here.know that. So does Tom.

I'm so sorry that I one, posted this comment, and two, opened up the site again to these creatures.
Tom know I was kidding but some of you might not realize that.
I apologize to all of you
