NY Post: Mets’ bats spring to life with 10-run fourth in win over Brewers. "In a display that would have made the 1927 Yankees jealous, the Mets sent 15 men to the plate in a 10-run fourth inning that was the keynote of a 16-hit, three-homer, 14-1 sledgehammer win at soggy Citi Field...the Mets, who had gotten one run in the inning on a Kevin Plawecki RBI fielder’s choice before Wilmer Flores’ grand slam, reloaded the bases with the next three batters: Curtis Granderson and Juan Lagares singled and Lucas Duda walked. Cuddyer delivered his double to end Matt Garza’s (L,2-5) night — but not the Mets’ onslaught. Murphy doubled home his two against reliever Brandon Kintlzer. Eric Campbell, just recalled by the Mets after Dilson Herrera broke his finger, singled for the 10th and final run of the inning for an 11-0 lead. One out later, Jacob deGrom added his third hit...“That was big for us,” said deGrom (W,4-4), who had his two-seam fastball working which enabled him to go up in a six-strikeout, six-inning night.

The Mets 10-run inning is the third most they have scored in one inning behind the 12 run inning on April 29, 2016 versus the Giants and an 11-run inning on July 16th, 2006 versus the Cubs.

Nationals beat Padres 4-1 to stay one half game behind the Mets.

Leathersich left baseball in 1998 and I can't find anything online about Jim. Even Grok failed.

Boy, I thought he was gonna be a star closer
