NY Post: Lagares’ bat, Tejada’s glove saves Mets from ugly loss to Phils. "Juan Lagares’ two-run homer in the seventh gave his team the lead, and with the Mets on the verge of giving it back in the eighth, Ruben Tejada went to his backhand to start an inning-ending double play that all but crushed the Phillies...Niese (W,3-2) lasted seven innings and allowed two unearned runs on five hits with six strikeouts and one walk. It marked the fifth time in six starts this season that Niese allowed one earned run or fewer."

The win helped the Mets keep their three and a half game lead over the Nationals who beat the Braves 8-6
