NY Post: Mets finally hit real tests after flying past Phillies. "Bartolo Colon (W,6-1) held on for the victory, allowing four earned runs over six-plus innings to become the NL’s first six-game winner...The right-hander was removed in the seventh and watched Alex Torres escape a bases-loaded jam by retiring Ryan Howard, after the Phillies had already scored twice in the inning to pull within 5-4...Johnny Monell’s pinch-hit double scored two runs in the eighth to give Carlos Torres and Jeurys Familia a three-run cushion over the final two innings...Curtis Granderson’s two-run homer in the fifth gave the Mets their first lead at 3-2.



ESPN.com: "Daniel Murphy had three of New York's season-high 14 hits. Pinch-hitter Johnny Monell delivered a two-run double for the Mets, who took two of three in Philadelphia and have won nine of 10 series against the Phillies since 2012."

Nationals beat the Braves to keep pace with the Mets and stay 3.5 games back.
